Dr Julius Bourke has been practising as Consultant Psychiatrist for the last 15 years. His areas of expertise include treatment-resistant cases of depression and anxiety disorders, functional somatic syndromes such as persistent pain and fatigue, functional neurological disorders, neuropsychiatric conditions, including brain injury and the psychiatric aspects of Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis.
These are conditions that lie at the interface between psychiatry, medicine and surgery and he collaborates closely with consultants from various medical specialties, and with a team of allied professionals in order to ensure comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation.
Dr Bourke serves as an honorary clinical senior lecturer in neurophysiology and clinical psychiatry at the QMUL.
